We are Islington

Introduction

Whilst we are still encouraging early years providers to take a cautious and measured approach, we know that you are developing creative but safe ways to manage the risks as you welcome more children back.

Guidance has changed frequently and may continue to do so, therefore, we will continue to support you to ensure that children and their families continue to receive fair, equitable, high-quality provision in all early years settings.

If you have any questions about the content of this page or anything else related to COVID-19, please email us.

Getting tested

Essential workers including teachers or early years workers self-isolating on account of COVID-19 symptoms can now apply for testing for themselves and their households.

The Department of Health and Social Care have confirmed that testing is now available for children aged under 5 to help support the phased opening of schools and childcare settings in England. From 28 May, all symptomatic individuals in England will be able to access a test if they need one. Read the full press release on the new Trace and Test service.

Getting tested

Protective Personal Equipment (PPE) in early years settings

You should be sourcing your own PPE but if you are unable to do so, you may complete the PPE request form. If you have any queries or for more information about PPE, please email Julia Bleet, Commissioning and Operations Manager.
