We're excited to invite Foster Carers to create an account on MyLearning.
MyLearning is our new training platform which will replace the training channels on IslingtonCS. MyLearning will bring new features, including the ability to host eLearning courses. It's also the system used for all other Islington staff training, including induction courses.
All training will move to MyLearning in stages:
- All Foster Carer training from Monday, 24 October will be booked and managed on MyLearning
- All Islington Safeguarding Children's Partnership (ISCP) training from Tuesday, 3 January 2023 will be booked and managed on MyLearning
To prepare for the move, we're asking you to create an account on MyLearning.
How to create an account

Step-by-step instructions for Foster Carers
- Visit My Learning
- Click the button labelled ‘Request an account’
- Read and review the terms and conditions
- Create a unique username (please only use lower case letters - do not use CAPITAL LETTERS)
- Set your password
- Type your email address, your first name and your surname in the required fields
- Next to organisation details, select ‘Choose here’
- Now search for 'Foster Carers' in the establishment tree:
- Click the ‘+’ sign next to 'External Organisations (dropdown menu)' - make sure you click the ‘+’ symbol and not the heading
- Then select 'Foster Carers'
- Click OK
- Alternatively, click the ‘Search’ tab
- then type 'Foster Carers' in the box and click ‘Search’:
- Select 'Foster Carers (10041662541002)' and then click ‘OK’
- then type 'Foster Carers' in the box and click ‘Search’:
- On the main application form, you should now see 'Foster Carers' next to organisation details
- Type the name of your supervising social worker next to line manager
- Click the heading labelled “External partner organisation employees only”
- Type in your supervisor's email address in the box labelled line manager’s email address
- Select 'I am a foster carer' from the drop down list labelled “Which of the following statements most closely describe your current work situation”
- Leave 'billing contact name' blank
- Leave 'billing contact email' blank
- Click ‘request an account’
What happens next
You should receive an email confirming that your application has been received and is being processed.
Each new account needs to be checked and approved by our HR team.
After you have created your account, our HR team will review it and check that you have provided the right details. They will contact you if they have any queries. Otherwise, you'll receive a further email to confirm your account is active and that you can log in.
Please allow up to four working days for your account to be approved.
Due to the volume of applications we expect to receive, processing times may take longer than expected. Thank you for your patience.
How to log on
Once you've received notification that your account is active, you are ready to log on.
- Go to My Learning
- Click ‘I am Agency Staff / External Partner’
- Type in your confirmed username and your password (please note that your username may have changed - check your confirmation email)
- Click ‘Log in’
