This autumn we are offering you the opportunity to partner with the UCL Institute of Education to devise and undertake an action research project in response to the particular needs of the children in your setting.

The cost is £300 per participant although this will be reduced to £200 for those schools who buy the Early Years ASP. To find out more, please come to our ‘Expression of Interest’ meeting on Wednesday, 12 July 16:00 at the Laycock Centre. Register now on the Early Years Training Channel on IslingtonCS:

Practitioners will draw upon their own expertise and reflection to formulate a research question focused on developing and extending knowledge and practice of children’s learning and development under a broad theme. We are currently considering the following broad themes as a starting point for possible research:

  • Baby room practice
  • Two-year-olds in school
  • Narrowing the gaps

Join colleagues from a variety of settings across the borough to engage in professional dialogue and further develop your skills as a reflective practitioner. This is a fantastic professional development opportunity with the potential to make a positive impact on the practice and pedagogy of your whole setting. Over the course of the year you will:

  • engage in research relevant to you and your setting
  • be enabled to use your findings to impact on your own practice and to inspire others
  • develop your network of contacts
  • engage in professional dialogue and reflection in order to further develop your expertise as an early year’s practitioner.
