Statutory Appropriate Body Role

Every school is required to use an appropriate body to quality assure the statutory induction of their NQTs.

  • Independent quality assurance of the statutory induction process in your school
  • Named point of contact for both the staff responsible for induction and the NQT in your school
  • Assistance with and advice on monitoring/observations of NQTs
  • Collection and review of school assessments
  • Reporting of assessment outcomes to the National College for Teaching and Leadership (Teaching Regulation Agency from April 2018)

Training for Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs)

  • Support for NQTs to meet the Teachers’ Standards alongside your own school-based activities
  • The training covers aspects of teaching and learning as well as areas such as classroom culture, SEN and the Islington context and behaviour management
  • An opportunity to network with other NQTs to share experiences and gain support

How we will deliver it

  • A named point of contact for the school for NQT related issues
  • Collection and review of school assessments
  • Observations and support where necessary
  • A series of 7 centrally run training sessions
  • Visits to see lead practitioners
